Michael Heupel, born 1988 in Athens, is a sought-after soloist and chamber musician currently based in Hamburg.
His studies with Prof. Tilmann Wick (Hannover) and Prof. Arto Noras (Hamburg), as well as master classes with eminent teachers and artists like David Geringas, Bernard Greenhouse, Anner Bylsma and Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt have helped him form and develop his artistic personality.
In 2012 he was offered the „Alexandros S. Onassis Foundation“ scholarship.
He plays on a cello built in 1723 by David Tecchler in Rome.
